Here’s a set of free 2023 calendars for you to download and add to your digital planners and journals, desktop wallpaper organizer and any other project where a calendar will come in handy!
The calendars actually include October to December 2022, so you can start using them right away!
These calendars are optimized for digital use.
Each month is in its own file and you will find a black and white option. Use the black option on light backgrounds and the light option on darker backgrounds.
PNG Files, Transparent Background
The PNG files have a transparent background therefore can be layered over other graphics and backgrounds like our watercolor backgrounds.
Tip: in your graphics application, make a colored box to layer behind the calendar to make it easier to read.
With And Without Headers
I have created the files so there is a version with the month header, and a version without. This means you can use the base calendar without the month header and add your own header using the font you have chosen for the rest of the project. This will give you a cohesive look.
Download Calendars
The files have been zipped together and you can download them below:
You can add these calendars to any project, however if you would like to use these calendars along with our free wallpapers to create your own desktop organizer, check out our tutorial HERE!
If you have created your own aesthetic desktop organizers from our free Makebreaks wallpapers, but now want to add some more elements such as calendars or other graphics, you will find this is SUPER easy to do.
If you haven’t created your own aesthetic desktop organizers yet, check out our tutorial – you will be making your own custom organizers in MINUTES!
Free Calendars for Desktop Organizers
First, you may want to check out our free calendar elements. These are available by month, in black versions and white versions – plus I’ve created them with and without the headers showing the name of the month so you can make the header match the rest of your text.
If you are going to use one of these, download the file and unzip it.
We are using again, the free browser based image editor, Photopea.
How to Add Elements to Your Makebreaks Aesthetic Desktop Organizer
This really is SO easy to do 🙂
Create or open the desktop wallpaper you want to add an element to.
Go to File then select Open and Place.
This will allow you to open another file and place this onto the file you are working on.
So, open the element you want to use and place this onto the page. You will need to resize it and move it into position.
TIP: If you are using one of our calendars, try using a version without the header and then add the header in the same font as you are using for the rest of the page to create a cohesive look.
As we did in the previous tutorial, use the text tool in the tool bar on the left to add the text and then choose the font from the menu which appears at the top. If you want to edit the text and it is no longer active, just double click on the icon in the right hand tool bar to activate the text.
We used this technique to add the calendar to your aesthetic desktop organizers, however you can use this technique to add photos, clipart, other graphics – anything you need to create the perfect working space on your desktop 🙂
Here’s a cute colorful monster (set 4) digital sticker in three different colorways for your digital planner and digital scrapbooking projects.
These png files can be used in your Goodnotes and PDF planners. Use these digital planner stickers to add a cute embellishment to an page. The subtle sticker effect adds a little texture and depth to your page 🙂
Each of these images has been saved as a PNG file for you to import to your planner.
Note, these files have been optimized for digital use and are not designed for printing.
Add these embellishments to your Goodnotes planner, digital notebook planner – or any other pdf planner.

Have you seen the lovely aesthetic desktop organizers and found them beautiful to look at, but not quite right for your needs? Or have you been itching to create your own aesthetic desktop organizers but didn’t know where to start? In that case read on 🙂 In this tutorial I am going to show you how to take one of our free Makebreaks atheistic desktop wallpapers and turn it into your very own custom aesthetic desktop organizers in just a couple of minutes – and for free!
We have some free aesthetic desktop wallpaper organizers ready made for you (check them out HERE), and these are available for download including both headings and versions without headings, and these are great if you like how we’ve laid them out – however, if you want to create your own from our growing collection of aesthetic desktop wallpapers and create your own organizer, you’ll find it’s incredibly easy to do!
While you can use any graphics editor to do this, I’m going to use a free browser based application called Photopea. I am guessing that if you already have Photoshop or the premium version of Canva, you are going to know how to do this, therefore I am writing this tutorial for people without in depth knowledge of graphics applications but are keen to learn 🙂
How to Make Aesthetic Desktop Wallpaper Organizer Using MakeBreaks Free Wallpapers
Without any further ado let’s get started!
You will find a video at the end of this tutorial. This walks through the main steps – however I share my office with two happily cheeping lovebirds and a gang of noisy dogs and cats – so the quality isn’t great but if you can ignore the cheeping, it will show you what to do. But if you prefer written tutorials (which I personally prefer), read on.
Step 1 – Choose Your Wallpaper
Of course, this will work with any desktop wallpaper which you have access to in JPG or PNG format. However, if you don’t have one to hand, check out our growing selection of free aesthetic desktop wallpapers. Download the wallpaper and save it to your computer. All our freebies come zipped for ease of download, so remember to unzip the file before use.
You will notice that we offer rations, 3:2, 16:10 and 16:9 (not sure what this means? It’s the dimension of your screen – if you are not sure just try them until you find the one that looks best).
Step 2 – Create Your Organizer
Before you start, think about how you would like your organizer laid out and what headings you would like. If you’re not sure yet, just have a go at creating some boxes and adding text and then create your organizer ‘for real’ later.
Head to Photopea – this is a free browser based application, so nothing to download and install!
Select ‘Open From Computer’ – navigate to where you have saved the wallpapers and pick a wallpaper and open.
Before we go any further, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the navigation. I’ve highlighted the tools we are using in this tutorial in the screenshot.
TIP: Check ‘autoselect’ – this makes life a LOT easier. When this is checked, you just click on an object to select it.
Use the object tool to draw a box. You will see this in the left hand tool bar towards the bottom. By default it shows a rectangle, however if for any reason you see another shape, click on the arrow to show more options.
Take a look at the bottom of the tool bar and you will see the color we’ve used. Don’t worry about this now, it’s super easy to change.
To adjust the dimensions of the box you’ve just created either grab the handles in the centre of each edge or at the corner. If you want to change the position, click on the move tool at the top left.
When you are happy with how the box looks and it’s in the right place, click on the tick to accept the changes.
To change the color of the box, double click on the box icon in the layer panel at the right of the page. This will open the color picker. Then, just click anywhere on the image to select a color (I said it was easy 🙂 ). If the color panel box itself is in the way, just drag it out of the way so you can click to pick a color.
Change the opacity to give the box some transparency.
If you fancy trying some different effects, try the blending options in the panel on the right. I used ‘Overlay’, however the look you will achieve will depend very much on the background and color you choose – experiment!
When you are happy with how the box is looking, duplicate it to make more boxes, (either go to Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste or use Control C and Control V). Create the layout by duplicating the boxes and dragging them into place. I made smaller headers for each box by repeating the steps above, but this time I left the box at full opacity with no blending mode and resized it so it covered just the top of the box to provide the background for the text.
Use the text tool to add text and drag on the handles to resize the text.
When you select the text tool, you will see a text tool menu appear at the top. From here you can change font, size and color.
Remember to select the move tool to move elements.
TIP: If you can’t move small items like the text, zoom in until you can.
TIP: If you can’t see the text or other objects you have added, take a look at the layer panel and see if the text or object is ‘hidden’ behind another layer. If so, just grab the layer and move it to the correct position.
When it is finished to your liking, just go to File > Export and export your finished page as a JPG or PNG. There is no need to resize, but do give your file a different name so you don’t overwrite the original!
*** If you think you will want to edit the graphic again, go to File > Save PSD and save this to your computer. ***

This is a video tutorial showing the steps above – however do be aware of the lovebirds who make their presence known occasionally 🙂
Next Steps
Well, the very next step is to load and use your wallpaper. You’ll find another tutorial explaining how to load the wallpaper HERE.
But after that, I am sure you’ll be getting itchy fingers again and want to try customizing your free Makebreaks wallpapers some more. Stay tuned as we have more tutorials coming!

Desktop organizers are a simple but brilliant way to make better use of your computer’s laptop.
If you’re the type who has dozens of folders and files scattered across your desktop, you might want to try a desktop organizer as a way to get more organized.
What are Desktop Organizers?
A desktop organizer is just an image file that you can set as a your desktop wallpaper.
The clever bit is that it is designed with spaces to help you organize folders and files. This is designed to help you organize them depending on what they are.
Some desktop organizers have the areas labelled so you can place the folders and files that fit those labels into those areas. Others may have unlabelled spaces so that you can group elements based on your own preferences.
Additionally, desktop organizers may also include co-ordinating icons that you can use to customize the appearance of folders and files on your desktop.
How to Set a Desktop Organizer
After downloading and unzipping your desktop organizer set, move the files to somewhere on your computer where you’re not going to accidentally delete them.
On Windows
Right-click on an empty spot on your desktop and select Personalize or, if you’re using a touch-screen, go to Start, click Settings and then Personalization.
Click the Browse button, navigate to where you saved your desktop organizer and select the image file you want to use. We offer three different ratios.
If you don’t know what size your screen is, try the file for 16:9 first and ensure that the fit control is set to Fit. If it looks distorted, try the other sizes.
If there’s a Save Changes button, click it, otherwise just close the settings window.
On MacOS
Click the Apple menu at the top left of the screen and then System Preferences.
Click Desktop & Screen Saver and click for the Desktop pane if necessary.
If you saved your desktop organizer into a folder you’ve used here before, you should be able to select that folder and then select the organizer image.
If the organizer image is in a folder you’ve not used before for desktop images, click the + button below the list of folders and navigate to the folder containing the organizer image and choose that folder. You can then select the organizer image. At the time of writing Macs are more likely to use a 3:2 or 16:10 ratio image, so you may have to text which image looks best.
Turn Off Grid Alignment
This only applies to Windows.
On MacOS, when files or folders are saved to the desktop, they are positioned based on a grid, however, you can freely move icons anywhere, even partially overlapping other icons.
On Windows though, by default, when you move icons, they will always align to an invisible grid when you release them.
It’s easy to change this behavior so you can easily place icons based on the areas defined in the organizer image.
Right-click on an empty spot of your desktop and mouseover the View option. If you see a check mark visible beside the Align icons to grid option, click that option to disable it – the checkmark will disappear.
Now you should be able to drop icons anywhere and they won’t realign themselves to the invisible grid.
Using Desktop Icons
If your desktop organizer set includes desktop icons, you can use these to change the appearance of foldericons to further enhance your desktop appearance. Note that for Windows you will need to use the ico files, while on MacOS you can use the png files.
On Windows
On Windows, you can change the icons used by folders.
Right click on a folder and click Properties.
Then click the Customize tab and click the Browse button. Navigate to your icon and select it.
Click the OK button
Click the Apply button
Click the OK button
On MacOS
On a Mac, you can change folder and file icons.
In Finder, navigate to the icon PNG file you want to use and double-click it to open it in Preview. Go to Edit and Copy to add it to the pasteboard.
Right-click the file or folder you want to edit and click Get Info.
Click on the small icon at top left of the Info window and the press the Command+V keys to paste the image you copied as the new icon for the file or folder. Close the Info window.
